A selection of 15 lighthouses in and along Lake Michigan and Lake Huron
Grand Traverse, Mission Point, Cheboygan, 40 Mile Point and Point Betsie are a part of the modern day keeper program. Interested members of the public can apply to help run the lighthouse, museum gift shop, give tours and stay on site for a week or longer depending on the location.
Lighthouses each have unique structures and light patterns to help distinguish them when navigating. Today, visitors can collect a special stamp at most lighthouses.
